Middlesbrough regeneration scheme finds contractor


An exciting mixed-use regeneration scheme has been given the green light in the north-east, with a construction firm now committed to delivering phase one of the £4 million works.Hall Construction Services will start work on Middlesbrough's Middlehaven regeneration project, which will look to transform the area around new institution Middlesbrough College – and create jobs in the process.Bridge Street East, Dock Street and the Clock Tower Square will fall within the bounds of renovation efforts, with developers looking to create a public performance space and events square.


When distinctive paving, public art, seating and trees are installed, it is hoped that the project will generate new interest in the area and pave the way for job creation in retail and other sectors.Hall, the chosen construction firm, operates builds building, civil engineering, and earthworks divisions, experiencing a positive growth period on the back of major public projects such as Middlehaven.Business development manager Tim Barrick told the Northern Echo: "We expect to hit that figure again next year at least. We have started the financial year slightly ahead of where we normally are."
